Bio
Mari Tello is the founder and visionary leader behind Awaken International Ministries, where she empowers believers through Spirit led encounters in studies, women’s conferences, and global missions. With a passion for equipping others to write, speak, and lead, Mari has cultivated intimate teaching moments that encourage deeper relationships with Christ and inspire real-life transformation. Under her guidance, AIM provides essential “messages of hope” through radio and TV ministries, supports orphanages across Latin America, and leads consistent prayer initiatives since 2002.
She has been in the real estate business since 1998, starting with New Horizon Homes where she concentrated on new home sales, working her way up to Project Coordinator and Vice President over residential sales. She has significant experience in new home sales, down payment closing cost assistance programs, and affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization projects.
Mari has been recognized by former Major Edward Garza of San Antonio, TX for her community efforts and as one of the first to negotiate a TIF (Tax Increment Financing) in San Antonio, Texas. She was also recognized by former San Antonio Mayor Phil Hardberger for having served on the City of San Antonio Neighborhood Action Committee for District 7 from 1999 to 2009. Additionally, Mari has worked with neighborhood associations to achieve neighborhood revitalization and with San Antonio Credit Union revitalization projects that focus on helping people in need. In 2002, Mari obtained a “salesperson” license from the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) after which she worked extensively in connection with sales of new residential construction projects. Mari is a member of the National Association of Realtors. In 2015 Mari received her Broker license from the Texas Real Estate Commission. To enhance her professional accreditation, Mari is working toward a CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) certification. Outside of her active professional involvement, Mari enjoys spending time with her family, and with her husband of over 27 years.
